Iskuhi was born in the village of Talas in Turkey. She attended the local Vard Patrikyan School, participated in the literary group opened by the efforts of Vahan Kurkchian, which became the basis of her literary taste. After graduating from the college, she worked as a teacher of Armenian language and literature. She organized literary groups to teach Armenian children from Turkish-speaking families of Kesaria and surrounding villages.
in 1910 she married Hovhan Davtian, a national figure. The spouses were the bearers of the same ideology, so they set up the group of “Red Brigades”, through which the weapon was distributed to the detachments.
In 1918, after the ceasefire, Iskuhi moved to Izmir and became the director of the National Orphanage of girls, serving at the National Hospital at the same time.
She also gave lectures at Perperian College in Cairo.
