Heghine Metspayian

Heghine was born in New Nakhichevan. After graduating from Gymnasium, Heghine was involved in teaching, then she left for Tabriz, where she started working at Haigazian School, while continuing her efforts to increase women’s involvement in public activities. She was working closely with women and girls in Armenian families in Tabriz, organizing reading classes for them. During the First Republic of Armenia, Heghine was engaged in the organization of the Armenian orphans’ houses.
